11. Florida Gators

Three Players: Mike Pouncey (T), Maurkice Pouncey (C), Joe Haden (CB)

The Florida Gators may have fallen off the map under Will Muschamp and desperately trying to fight their way back to relevance, but they are still plenty relevant throughout the NFL world.

This team gets to be on the list with three players who made the Pro Bowl this year, two of whom are brothers and offensive linemen in Mike and Maurkice Pouncey. Then comes Joe Haden at the cornerback position.

All of these players came through under Urban Meyer and had a role in the most successful four-year run of the program’s history, from 2006 to 2009. Well, one of the most successful.

1993 to 1996 for Florida still gives it a run.

Anyway, the reason Florida is not higher on this list is the same reason Kansas is not: there is a bit of a lack of diversity here. Two linemen who are brothers speak to that. But also, when you consider that the players all came from one time period, just like Kansas, it’s not as impressive as if it’s spread out over time, showing your program’s long-term success.

But they get to be higher than Kansas because all of their selections were regular roster positions, not a return specialist position.
