1. Russell Wilson, QB, North Carolina State (transferred to Wisconsin)

Alright, I can already hear the people saying that Wilson didn’t graduate from an ACC school and that he played at Wisconsin. However before he went to Wisconsin, Wilson was a stud QB and baseball player at North Carolina State. Wilson was on the North Carolina State football team, but after graduating one year early, he enrolled in a graduate program at Wisconsin and played football there for one year.

Wilson is already a star quarterback that can make all the throws, but is especially adept at throwing a ball with touch. Wilson has unbelievable instincts and this year’s Super Bowl may feature the two best quarterback’s at feeling pressure and stepping up in the pocket to make throws. The things that make Wilson special however are his ability to lead a team, his scrambling ability and his flair for the dramatics. Wilson never lets the situation get too big for him and always inspires his teammates.

Wilson also has great ability to avoid hits and save his body, allowing the Seahawks the ability to continue to run the read option. Wilson has great vision when carrying the ball and has good speed for his position.

The one thing I think could hurt Wilson is I do not think he can consistently beat you from the pocket if you force him to stay in the pocket and not scramble outside of it. The Rams were the first to employ that strategy of not having anyone run on the pass rush run past Wilson to give him any rush lanes.

That is just nitpicking as I have said before and Wilson is a star and will get a big time contract this offseason regardless of the result in the Super Bowl.

I know this is somewhat against the rules of this article, but sometimes great ones make you make adjustments.
