The greatest dynasty college sports ever saw goes right here. John Wooden was an amazing coach and never sunk into irrelevancy. He walked out with a national championship his 29th year of coaching.

The author of many books about basketball and the developer of many great players, Wooden is basketball royalty on the level of James Naismith. Winning 10 championships in 12 years with four undefeated seasons, including back to backs in 1971-72 and 1972-73, is something that will never be matched. Included in that run is seven straight and eight out of nine.

Also, Wooden did his job developing amazing superstars, including Gail Goodrich, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and Bill Walton.

Wooden was so great and knew how great his team was that he did not even study film. He even openly stated that if his team did what it needed to do, nobody could beat them.

And for a long time, he was right.
