Stats: 653-of-1,060 (61.6 percent) for 9,536 Yards, 94 Total Touchdowns and 34 Interceptions
Record as Starter: 30-6, Three WAC Championships (1978, 1980, 1981)
Super Bowl Wins-1
XX-1985-86 With Chicago Bears (Defeated New England Patriots 46-10)
The guy we just mentioned put up All-World stats, especially for playing football in the 1970s and early 1980s in college. Jim McMahon had a field-day playing in a rare opened up offense at the time and torching defenses on a consistent basis.
The result was 94 total touchdowns and three WAC Championships in three years as a starter. The guy became lauded as another game-manager who won a Super Bowl at the next level, but in college, he was one of the best to ever do it.
Even without a national championship, this guy was a winner all throughout his college career, and he took that success into the NFL with the help of some amazing talent around him in Chicago. McMahon is by far the best mid-major quarterback to ever play college football and then go win a Super Bowl. You could honestly make a case for him being higher on this list.
