We are leaving national championship off of Troy Aikman’s college resume since he missed the final eight games of that season. But I guess if we go by the rings standard set down by the higher powers of football, it must set him apart from other college football greats, right? After all, it’s not about what you do, it’s about if you win a ring.
Okay, back to reality again. To be fair to Aikman, he was a great college quarterback once he transferred to UCLA. Throwing for 45 touchdowns and 18 interceptions throughout your college career is a very impressive stat line, and Aikman carried the Bruins to a Pac-10 Championship in 1987.
Back-to-back 10-win seasons was impressive, and he is still beloved in Pasadena for what he did there. Of course, then his NFL career turned him into even more of a legend.
