2. Pete Carroll
College Football Record: 83-19 (97-19) (USC, 2001-09)
7 Pac-10 Championships* (2002-08) *(2005 Vacated)
2 National Championships* (2003, 2004) *(2004 Vacated)
NFL Record: 83-61 (6-10 at New York Jets in 1994, 27-21 at New England from 1997-99, and 50-30 at Seattle from 2010-2014)
Super Bowls
Super Bowl XLVIII, 2013-14 (Defeated Denver Broncos 43-8)
He may have had a national championship vacated, but putting in the forfeited games, Pete Carroll still picked up a shared national title, won 6 Pac-10 championships, and compiled an 83-19 record.
If you don’t want to factor in the probation, his record is even more impressive, with a 97-19 record, two national championships, and 7 Pac-10 Championships in nine years of coaching. This all came after a 6-10 stint with the New York Jets and then being fired by the New England Patriots.
Now, after leading what many often overhype as one of the greatest runs in college football history, Carroll could be in the midst of one of the greatest runs in NFL history.
What separates Carroll from Johnson is the fact that he built USC instead of just inheriting the program. They both get credit in the NFL for building their teams at least, though.
