1. USC Trojans
So now where is everybody who wanted Steve Sarkisian fired before he even coached a game as head coach of the USC Trojans simply because he had not been recruiting well over the summer? Obviously, things change pretty darn quickly.
Sarkisian has the deepest class coming to USC, even if it’s not the top ranked class, already with 17 4-stars coming in. Remember, in football depth is much more important than superstars, and the depth coming to USC is a huge deal. But the superstars are also coming, and more could be on the way.
With already the deepest class that is currently ranked No. 2 in the country, USC added to it by picking up 5-star linebacker Porter Gustin from Utah Tuesday afternoon. The Trojans also have three other 5-star prospects in play right now, all of whom are from the Southern California area, and they are far ahead of rival UCLA for two of them. So there is lots of icing for the Trojans to add to this already delicious cake that, with enough luck, could turn it into the top class in the country. Having the deepest and the top class speaks volumes.
With all of that in mind, the Pete Carroll days at USC might be on the way back.
