9. Auburn Tigers

Like Oregon, the Auburn Tigers and Gus Malzahn have a Top 15 class. Like Oregon, Auburn is still in serious contention for a few superstar players. Unlike Oregon, Auburn has a great shot at some of these players, including the No. 1 and No. 4 ranked players in the country, defensive end Byron Cowart and offensive tackle Martez Ivey, both of whom are down to Florida and Auburn.

Also, unlike Oregon, Auburn has consistently recruited well over the past few years and knows it has the horses to compete for a national championship as long as a little bit of luck happens. With that in mind, the Tiger fans have lots to be excited about going into National Signing Day. They know they’ve got a very good class put together already, and for what Malzahn wants to do, it is a perfect class. But now we could be talking about an elite class that is one of the best in the country if things go right, and there is a very good chance that happens.

With an end and a tackle the two prized targets, Auburn is taking steps to get as physical as in-state rival Alabama as well. So combine the talent with Malzahn’s system, and you have the same situation you could have at Oregon with great recruiting: total dominance. We will know for sure how that shakes out soon enough.
