Number of Rivals 100 Players Still Chasing: 6 (2 5-Stars, 4 4-Stars)

The LSU Tigers and Les Miles recruit Top 10 classes at ease, and with the No. 10 ranked class in the country right now, they have a lot to add going into National Signing Day. There are six players in the Rivals 100 that could make this a Top 5 class or even better, so the Tigers have far and away the most to gain going into the Coach’s Christmas Day.

LSU is another school in the fight for 5-star defensive end CeCe Jefferson, and it appears to be fighting most heavily with Florida State for Iman Marshall, the 5-star defensive back that everybody seems to want. If the Tigers can pull off those two commitments, great. If not, well, they already have 4 5-stars in the bag and another 4 4-stars in the Rivals 100 on their watch. There’s a chance they could pick up all four, and that would make for still a Top 5 class, likely Top 3.

If LSU picks up everybody on their board, they’ll easily have the No. 1 class in the country, but no matter what happens, they have lots of chance to improve their class this week, which is already in the Top 10.

An elite class at LSU certainly wouldn’t surprise anybody either, given the history of this program under Nick Saban and now Miles. But jumping to a Top 5 class or possibly the top class would certainly be great momentum even by LSU standards.

Can the mad-hatter pull out another trick? We’ve got two days to find out.
