4. Alabama Crimson Tide

Rivals Class Rank: No. 2

Okay, it might be hard to sell a school with the No. 2 ranked recruiting class on Rivals being a loser on National Signing Day, but when you lose your top spot, it is deflating.

Not that it means much between No. 1 and No. 2, but Alabama and Nick Saban had been dominating recruiting by such a long shot since 2008 with four straight No. 1 classes, six in seven years, and the No. 1 class throughout the entire recruiting period up until National Signing Day, that to fall to No. 2 has to be a sickening disappointment.

Wide Receiver Daylon Charlot was the only important pickup for the Tide on Wednesday.

Is this another sign that the dynasty could be over?

Okay, that is a huge stretch. Three No. 1 classes and a No. 2 class in four years still is good enough to produce a national champion. But it does show that the gap between Saban and Alabama and everybody else has narrowed significantly

That may not change any time soon. Alabama has some competition.
