Loser

3. Texas Longhorns

Rivals Class Rank: No. 12

In the scheme of the Big 12, the Texas Longhorns were not losers. With all the upheaval that happened this past year and the effort by Charlie Strong to change the culture of the Texas Longhorns, it had to be hard to even put together a decent class, and to make the strong push at the end the way he did to get a Top 15 class was remarkable.

But Texas had a Top 10 class going into Wednesday, and they did not just drop out of the Top 10. Once again, they did not even win the state of Texas. That’s unacceptable for Longhorn Nation.

It’s not like Texas A&M had a great National Signing Day even though it put together a great class. But the Aggies and Kevin Sumlin are not supposed to win the state, and that is exactly what they have done again. Texas took a big hit by losing running back Soso Jamabo to UCLA, and really all they got on Wednesday were Wide Receiver Ryan Newsome and safety PJ Locke.

That is not enough considering what other programs got, and to lose out on guys the way they did was bad. It had to be deflating to fall out of the Top 10 after the elation of finally getting there with Strong’s late push.

But the future is still bright in Austin with a bit of time.
