Texas Longhorns

The Horns grabbed 13 of ESPN’s 300 on signing day, including Malik Jefferson, an early 5 star commit. What impressed most was Texas’ ability to pull in a bevy of much needed 4 star talent, including Corners Holton Hill and Kris Boyd.

On the offensive side, the Horns picked up Offensive Guard Patrick Vahe out of Euless Texas and 4 star running backs in Tristian Houston and Chris Warren, whom, if you are to believe the rumors, decided on Texas based on a coin flip.

Perhaps the biggest coup of the day belonged to safety P.J. Locke, who had originally committed to Oregon but signed on to go to Texas. Maybe it was the fact that DBU is on its way with the likes of Holton and Boyd but Texas did get some much needed help on the offensive side of the ball.

Like this past season, Strong had a strong finish in recruiting to put together a pretty darn good class. It’s a little bittersweet that they did not win the state of Texas, losing again to Texas A&M, but at least we know that Strong can coach and is getting some great talent in the program. You can trust him to maximize talent more than you could trust Mack Brown.

Bringing in this class was a great start.
