TCU Horned Frogs

It was actually a very disappointing National Signing Day for Gary Patterson and the TCU Horned Frogs. Having Wide Receiver JF Thomas switch his commitment to Texas Tech from TCU, which was a huge loss, and defensive tackle Daylon Mack chose Texas A&M over the Horned Frogs really hurt.

But TCU has been a program under Patterson that may not recruit as well as everybody else, but they find the talent that fits the system perfectly. And with so much talent and hype coming back, that is really all they need.

4-Star defensive back DeShawn Raymond was the most prized pickup of the class, and he was actually a huge one. Remember, TCU had a pretty good defense last year, but the collapse in the secondary against Baylor in the fourth quarter cost them a shot at the College Football Playoff. That never should have happened, and Raymond could have an immediate impact.

This class was full of athletes, defensive players, and offensive linemen with a few wide receivers mixed in. Patterson went straight for what he needs to fit his system, which he has always done, and TCU will still be elite with these guys once Patterson is done coaching them up.

Check back on Friday, Feb. 6 for the bottom half of the Big 12.
