With Gus Malzahn’s dramatically ahead of the curve offense that wins games and a Top 15 recruiting class heading into National Signing Day, Auburn Tiger fans already had reason to be very excited.

But after Signing Day, a coach that wins with great X’s and O’s now has quite a few Jimmy’s and Joe’s. And they all beef up the exact weaknesses that were facing the Tigers over the past two seasons.

Defense continues to get better, as Malzahn added Byron Cowart, the 5-star defensive end who is the best player in the country, 4-star defensive end Prince Tega Wanogho Jr., 4-star defensive backs Tim Irvin, and Jordan Colbert, and 4-star linebackers Darrell Williams, Jeffery Holland, and Richard McBryde.

All of that gets to combine with some more beef on the offensive line with 4-stars Marquel Harrell, Tyler Carr, and Kaleb Kim. And Malzahn still found some awesome athletes and skill players to fit his system with running back Jovon Robinson, who runs a 4.5-40, and athletes Darius Slayton, Javarius Davis, and Jason Smith, each of whom runs a 4.5-40 or better.

The skill players are loaded, the coaching is superb, and the physical players are coming in. Auburn’s class was amazing, and for what the Tigers are trying to do, you could not ask for anymore.
