Rivals Class Rank: No. 30

For years, Chris Petersen won at Boise State with recruiting classes far worse than what he picked up Wednesday on National Signing Day. And, by the way, the Pac-12 North is not much better than the Mountain West, considering that it’s worse when you take out Oregon and Stanford.

So with all of that in play, a Top 30 class is pretty good for what he is trying to do.

Petersen found a 4-star quarterback in Jake Browning to be the next guy he grooms to run his perfect pro-style offense, and he picked up a couple of great defenders in DJ Beavers and Benning Potoa’e. He also got physical with quite a few offensive linemen.

This all shows that Washington is going to continue to be a pro-style team that wins with clock management and efficient quarterback play, exactly what Boise State was, but perhaps Petersen could have more explosive plays in the future than he ever had before.

What is certainly true is that this class and Petersen’s coaching are enough to put together a winning team in the Pac-12 North.
