5. Jalen Dalton, Defensive End, North Carolina

And North Carolina and Coach Larry Fedora make this list by snagging the top defensive end in all of the ACC recruiting classes combined. Jalen Dalton has the ability to impact the game in so many ways, but should be able to put consistent pressure on the quarterback with his quickness.

Dalton has long limbs and big frame at 6’6” tall and uses those long limbs to swat the hands of opposing tackles while rushing the passer. He is a little lean right now meaning he will be relegated to end of the line duty for now, but when he adds more weight and muscle he should be able to bump down and play defensive tackle on passing downs, where he can use his quickness and strength on the inside.

Dalton should be able to use his skills to improve the Tar Heels defense, but unfortunately for the Tar Heels they need more than one defensive end to improve that defense.
