Trey Metoyer

Trey Metoyer was supposed to be the answer everyone was looking for in Norman when it came to their receiving corps. At 6’2″ 211 pounds, Metoyer certainly looked the part.

Regarded as one of the best receiver prospects coming out of the 2011 class, Trey Metoyer chose Oklahoma over the likes of Nebraska and Texas A&M. In 2012, Metoyer’s first playing year, he had a lackluster year, only finishing with 17 receptions. In 2013, it went from bad to worse for the young man, not just in playing time, but for off the field issues.

In October, Bob Stoops dismissed Metoyer from the team after he was arrested for felony indecent exposure. In February 2014, Metoyer was arrested again for the same charge. With Blake Bell needing targets to throw to in 2012 and 2013, it could’ve been Metoyer’s years to shine if not for the disturbing nature of his dismissal.
