Alan Cobb (VMI)–Alan Cobb was without question the biggest young impact player in the Southern Conference last season, finishing his inaugural campaign in Lexington, VA, as the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year.

Cobb, a freshman from Pulaski, TN., ended the 2014 season as the Southern Conference’s leading passer, throwing for 2,971 yards and 20 TDs on 269-of-438 passing.

Cobb started all 12 games for the Keydets last season, throwing for 200 or more yards in at least nine of those starts.

The Volunteer State native opened his career in Lexington with a flurry, passing for 308 yards and four TDs in his inaugural performance on Aug. 30, while capping his rookie season with a career-best 396 yards passing.
