5. Marcus Peters, Cornerback, Washington Huskies

We are back to the cornerback position, and Marcus Peters is a guy who seriously needs a good combine. Peters looked like a superstar this year but was dismissed by Chris Petersen, giving rise to huge character issues that could become a distraction.

The only way to overcome those character issues is to have physical gifts unmatched. Peters showed through the tape that he has an instinct for the ball with 3 interceptions this past year and that he can be a very tough player, recording 30 tackles.

But Peters also gets beat a lot and tricked a lot, so he racked up stats because he was often targeted. That’s because he has terrible footwork and low intangibles.

The shuttles and drills will have to be used to measure just how good he is, and his 40-time and bench press had better be blowing people out of the water. Otherwise, he could raise lots more questions than he is worth.
