Just like Bryce Petty, Mariota comes from a spread and is unproven in nfl-style systems. So, just like Petty, his physical tools may help him a bit in the draft since he’ll be drafted with mobility as a factor.

But even more so than Petty, the concerns about Mariota would not be alleviated if he ran the fastest 40 time, had the best bench press, had the highest vertical, and passed every position drill with flying colors.

Mariota showed twice last year that he loses all accuracy and has terrible pocket presence the minute he faces any kind of pressure.  That is what his draft should be based on, and no NFL Combine should change that. Mariota’s performances in certain situations are enough to say that he has no business going in the first round of the NFL Draft anyway unless Philadelphia picks him.

The game tape is all you need to know that this guy will be another Heisman winning failure in the NFL who never takes his team anywhere. Remember, RG3 fooled everybody at the combine and Tom Brady was terrible. Mariota’s combine should do nothing to help him.
