Top Five Defensive Back Recruits in ACC

3. Jordan Whitehead, Pittsburgh, CB, 5’11’’ 180 lbs.
Narduzzi gets a really solid cover guy in Whitehead for his first year as Pittsburgh head coach. Whitehead has very good quickness and often times plays bigger than his frame and size would suggest. Whitehead is very aggressive as a corner and to this point has really only played zone, but has a very solid skill set to work with and develop as an above average man to man corner in the ACC.
Furthermore Whitehead has good top end speed, and solid awareness which will help him in the long run as he does not have elite top end speed meaning he can get beat deep if doesn’t play coverage correctly. He also has very good hands and deep ball skills which will lead him to get a high number of interceptions from average quarterbacks trying to throw it up for their receiver to make a play.
Whitehead possesses very few negatives, with one being his lack of experience in man to man coverage and the other being his tackling. Whitehead is aggressive to a fault at times and does not breakdown in front of the back, which can lead to attempted arm tackles. He also has trouble building power through his tackles and does not drive through the offensive player.
Overall a very good future cornerback for Narduzzi and I think a future NFLer.
