Biggest Question: Will the offense improve at all with more experience?
The Temple Owls had one of the youngest teams in all of college football last year, but they still managed to get to 6-6 with a Top 5 defense. With the entire defense back and no worries on that side of the ball, the atrocious offense from last year is the biggest question going into the offseason.
Will there be any personnel changes in the spring, or will the Owls stick with the same offense that has eight returning starters in the hopes that experience trumps everything else?
Experience has to count for something, but the offense was so bad last year that might have to go out the window. This is what spring practice will be for. We know that Temple’s defense is absolutely loaded, so in the spring some of the offensive personnel should be able to show us what it can do.
Quarterback P.J. Walker has to show some type of improvement after a terrible year, and perhaps finding a running game of some sort could help. If the offense improves, the Owls could go from 6 wins to 10 wins. With more experience, it could. And we’ll see if experience is the key or if personnel changes are the key this spring.
