Biggest Question: Can Dak Prescott gel with a cast of all new skill players?

Last year, the Mississippi State Bulldogs benefitted heavily from the fact that they had so much returning talent. This year, that 2014 Heisman trophy candidate in quarterback Dak Prescott will be tested heavily.

All of his toys from last year are gone. Prescott has a whole new set of receivers, and Josh Robinson’s decision to enter the NFL Draft  leaves him with a new partner in the backfield.

Anybody who knows the Dan Mullen-Urban Meyer style spread offense knows it is often times more confusing for linemen and receivers than it is for quarterbacks. That makes this Spring crucial for Prescott and the offense. He needs to develop some consistency with these new guys.

All of these guys have to pick up the nuances of Mullen’s spread while working with the first team as well, and they have to get used to what Prescott likes to do. These are all crucial elements of this spread offense.

And if Mississippi State is to even remotely resemble what it was last year, those elements seriously need to be addressed.
