Biggest Question: Can Maty Mauk show any improvement?

Can everybody spare everybody the stupid rhetoric? Maty Mauk was never on James Franklin’s level of talent, and Maty Mauk sounds ridiculous now for ever insinuating himself in the same breath even as Johnny Manziel when it comes to SEC performances.

Mauk rode the train as a game manager to the SEC East division championship, and it was all he could do to not somehow lose that division for the Tigers. Now, this Spring, we know that Gary Pinkel will once again have a great running game and easily replace his stacked defensive line because that is what he does.

But Mauk needs to establish himself as a decent quarterback that can at least give Pinkel the peace of mind that he might be worth the risks sometimes. Mauk has not shown consistency in even being good yet. He has only shown flashes mixed in with very bad play.

This Spring, we need to see just how good Mauk is because if he continues to struggle in the Spring, it will be fair to say that fans will be building up calling for his benching when the season starts and he struggles.

All of this starts in the Spring, where Mauk can win back all fans.
