Biggest Question: Can Jacob Coker win the starting job at quarterback?

It came as a major shock to all of us when Jacob Coker did not get the starting job for the Alabama Crimson Tide last year, losing it to Blake Sims.

Of course, Sims had a pretty impressive run, and that was clearly the right decision. But the hype behind Coker now is more surrounded by questions than excitement. Is he ready to be able to manage the offense, especially given the fact that he was not so great while in games last year?

This is a huge question surrounding the Tide, and we need Spring Practice to figure it out. Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin have a few other quarterbacks on the roster, so it is not like they cannot make a decision to starts somebody else.

That means the spring is crucial for Coker to show he’s the guy and he’s ready to take over the offense. Given the fact that Kiffin’s offense is more open than previous coordinators under Saban, he may have had an excuse last year for not being ready to take over.

But then again, Coker came from Jimbo Fisher, who also likes to open up the offense. So we need to see who the real Jacob Coker is this spring.
