The Aggies then went on to lose a couple of games to two solid SEC teams, and as a result, Allen’s Aggies played West Virginia in the Liberty Bowl, where Allen had a field day. In Memphis, Allen, again, threw four touchdown passes and 294 yards, as the Aggies defeated the Mountaineers, 45-37.
Allen had a bright freshman season with the Aggies, and the future only looks brighter for the young quarterback. It’ll be interesting to see how much better Allen gets in the off-season, as he could potentially develop into the Aggies’ next Heisman trophy winner.

After what was a disappointing year for the Aggies, Kyle Allen became one of the few bright spots for Kevin Sumlin’s team in College Station. Allen, who was a freshman in 2014, started the season behind former Aggies quarterback, Kenny Hill, who shined early in the season, but failed to live up to his self-made hype. Allen then came in to relieve the breathless Aggies.
In 2014, Allen tossed 16 touchdown passes for 1,322 yards, while completing 61.5% of his passes. He showed lots of promise, as he performed very well in Texas A&M’s signature win over Auburn at Jordan-Hare. Against Auburn, Allen threw for 227 yards and four touchdown passes, while completing 65.5% of his throws.
