During Sumlin’s tenure with the Aggies, Texas A&M has done well in a very tough SEC West division. In Sumlin’s first season, Texas A&M’s first season in the SEC, the Aggies went 11-2, with a blowout victory over Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl. That season, Sumlin coached a Heisman trophy winner in Johnny Manziel.

Since Sumlin took over in 2012, Texas A&M has recruitied exceptionally well, averaging the ninth best recruiting class in the conference during that span. Kids love Sumlin, and as Sumlin keeps building for the future, watch out. The Aggies are coming.

Sumlin offers the best of both worlds. He’s a superb coach, and he’s an excellent recruiter. Sumlin gets it. His offense runs well when its led by a quick quarterback, who can make plays with both his feet and arm. It seems like anyone can run his offense, and that attests to his exceptional ability to coach.

Sumlin is a good coach, and he has a bright future ahead of him, as he hopes to have a better season this year than he has the year’s past.
