He is most known for his one outstanding recruiting class at Ole Miss. In 2013, according to rivals.com, Freeze brought in the seventh best recruiting class in the nation, while bringing in three five-star recruits, including the number one player in the nation, Robert Nkemdiche.

Freeze has had success every where he’s been. He’s taken Ole Miss from the bottom, and now, he’s somewhere in the middle of a very competitive SEC West. Freeze’s Rebels have been successful, and they will likely continue their success under Freeze.

After Freeze’s high-ranking recruiting class in 2013, the Rebels have averaged the twentieth best recruiting class in the nation. Ole Miss’ recruiting momentum has gone done slightly, however I fully expect the Rebels to be relevant for the duration of Freeze’s tenure in Oxford.

I can see the argument calling for Freeze’s ranking to be increased, but due to the amount of excellent coaches in the SEC, Freeze is at the bottom of a very elite and talented group of eleven.

Head Coach, Ole Miss

  • Years at current school: 3
  • Record with current school: 24-15
  • Overall record: 54-22 (college)
  • Conference Championships: 1 (Sun Belt, 2011)
  • National Championships: 0

Well, as we enter the top eleven, you’ll see that many coaches are ranked lower than you probably think they should be. There are many great coaches in the SEC, so bear with me. As you can tell from the picture of Ole Miss head coach, Hugh Freeze, above, even Freeze is surprised with his low ranking.

Freeze came to Ole Miss after a very successful career as a high school coach in Tennessee. Freeze had a few very short stints with other colleges at various positions, including his one-year stint as the head coach of Arkansas State.
