Wisconsin is just fine without Melvin Gordon
Growing up a Wisconsin Badgers football fan, I’ve become acclimated to the revolving door that is the Badgers backfield. Over the past two decades years, they have lost elite talent but replace them with the next back int he assembly line. The latest back, Melvin Gordon, is in my opinion the most talented of the crop. Gordon is very reminiscent of LeSean McCoy in terms of shiftiness and running style.
Even with the departure of Gordon, the Badgers faithful should have no worries as they have another stud waiting to wreak havoc in the backfield this Spring. Corey Clement averaged 6.46 yards per carry on his 147 touches in 2014. That’s comparable to what James White averaged in his last two years in Madison. Clement looks like a bigger version of White and has untapped potential.
Look out for Corey Clement to be a top-10 back this season.
