Oregon won’t have a quarterback until Vernon Adams arrives
Just as the Brett Hundley era is over at UCLA, the Marcus Mariota era is over at Oregon which is exponentially more detrimental. Mariota has been the cornerstone of the program the past three years and will be tough to replace, especially with the quarterbacks they have going into spring practice.
Luckily for the Ducks, they received a commitment from two-time Walter Payton Award runner-up, Vernon Adams Jr. That award is the equivalent to the Heisman Trophy, which Mariota won last year, and while it is a step up in competition, Adams Jr. has dominated the FCS over the past two seasons and is a good fit for Oregon’s spread offense.
The Ducks will have to be patient and wait until the summer to begin the Mariota succession plan.
