The Injury Bug May Bite
Samaje Perine’s running style is that of a strong bruiser who thrives on constant contact, wearing down defenders as the game progresses. And even though Perine left many a defender clamoring for the ice bath after delivering four quarters of punishing physical contact, the fact is his body also took a pounding in 2014.
Can Perine sustain this aggressive running style in 2015 and avoid injury, especially running behind an inexperienced offensive line? Can his body sustain the wear and tear as opposing defensive coaches develop game-plans specifically designed to stop him?
While it’s impossible to predict injuries, given Perine’s penchant for contact and that he will surprise no one in 2015, chances are pretty good that one or more injuries may slow him down in 2015. Sooner Nation certainly hopes otherwise.
