As James Franklin enters his second year as head coach of the program, it is time to expect just that from Lewis. That’s the curse that comes with showing how good you are.
Lewis will still be the No. 2 wide receiver entering his senior season, but all of the offensive numbers are expected to go up, his included. And given that he’d be a No. 1 anywhere else, he belongs on this list.

Geno Lewis

As the No. 2 wide receiver in an offense running a new system led by a quarterback still trying to figure out how to play college football, Geno Lewis somehow managed to put up 751 yards receiving on 55 catches along with 2 touchdowns. With another offseason playing with everybody, he could be a key reason for the deadliness of the Penn State offense going into this year.
Hackenberg is going to get better and showed flashes of living up to his 5-star potential last year, so if he gets better, that naturally means Lewis will get better. And with two 100-yard receiving games along with three more games with 80 or more yards, Lewis has shown he can step up and make big plays.
