The Offensive Line Is Better Than Advertised
Oklahoma’s offensive line lost a lot of talent, with five starters departing to graduation. And, that 2014 Oklahoma offensive line was a talented bunch that clearly contributed to Samaje Perine’s historic freshman season. Coach Bill Bedenbaugh definitely has his work cut out for him in 2015.
That said, Coach Bedenbaugh is widely considered to be both an excellent recruiter and keen football mind, and this definitely showed during the spring game. The offensive line played well, opened plenty of holes for OU’s runners and most of the time provided the quarterbacks with plenty of time to throw.
Better yet, the group was penalized only once, a clear indicator that the unit is already playing well together.
The spring game is still very early in the process, but it certainly appears that the Sooners’ offensive line may not be as huge an area of concern as previously thought.
