2. Who is replacing WR Mike Dudek?

Mike Dudek was one of the lone bright spots for the fighting Illini last year as he racked up 76 receptions, 1,038 yards and six touchdowns during his freshman campaign. The Naperville, IL native suffered a torn ACL in April, which left Beckman and his offense with a huge hole at the wide receiver position.

The main duties in Dudek’s absence falls on the shoulders of wide out Geronimo Allison, who was the third leading receiver in receptions last year behind Dudek and Ferguson. Allison may have only caught 41 passes but he lead the team with 14.6 yard per catch and pulled down five touchdowns.

Coach Beckman mention the names of Justin Hardy, DJ Taylor and Marchie Murdock as potential impact players at the receiver position while Dudek is sidelined. All three players will need to turn some heads this preseason to garner playing time when the leaves turn and Dudek is on the field.
