1. Who is the best quarterback?

Another spring, another quarterback battle takes place.

Everyone is a year older but the cast competing to be the Crimson Tide’s new starting quarterback looks eerily familiar. Blake Sims has moved on, but there is still plenty of competition left. As of now, it’s a five man race between Jacob Coker, David Cornwell, Alec Morris, Cooper Bateman and new comer Blake Barnett.

Coker is the recognizable name of the group. Last year, public perception declared him the winner of the quarterback battle before he even stepped on campus. Sims ended up stealing the show once the regular season rolled around but a year in the system should produce a more capable Coker.

The dark horse candidate that has emerged recently has been Cornwell. Saban has praised the young quarterback for his progress that he has made already this spring, and it might end up being enough to take control of a tight race. The quarterback race will not be decided on Saturday, but an impressive performance by any of the candidates could give Saban someone to focus on going into fall camps.
