1. Can Nyeem Wartman replace Mike Hull’s Production?
Mike Hull was sixth in the nation in tackles last year, a stat that has been very overlooked. If you asked me who Penn State’s biggest departure was leading up to this season, it would be him. His instincts and knack for sniffing out the ball carrier were elite last season, and he was the leader of that second ranked Penn State defense.
Who will be replacing him?
Redshirt junior LB Nyeem Wartman. At this point, Wartman isn’t the dynamic force that Hull was, but he can definitely develop into that type of player. Playing beside a guy like Hull who seems to be all over the field will only help Wartman excel as the heart and soul of the Nittany Lions defense.
