2. Will Jonathan Gray Emerge As The Featured Back?

The 2014 edition of the Texas rushing offense was one Longhorn Nation would rather forget about: the Horns finished 2014 ranked an uncharacteristic 101st in the country in rushing offense. Malcolm Brown led the running attack with 708 yards and six touchdowns, while junior Johnathan Gray contributed 637 yards and seven touchdowns, not exactly stellar numbers by either back. Worse yet, Brown and Gray averaged a paltry 4.1 yards per carry.

Brown is now departed, so the Longhorns coaching staff will be looking to Gray to carry the load in 2015. The former five-star recruit has shown flashes of brilliance but not quite lived up to the hype. Is this the year that Gray breaks out, or will it be more of the same for him?

If that’s the case, the Texas rushing attack may not improve much in 2015.
