5. A frightening front
Alabama’s defensive front might be even more intimidating than expected. The unit looked solid against the run and the pass all day Saturday.
The quarterbacks were not allowed to scramble and the running backs found it tough to get going. The front even stuffed Henry on the goal line, and forced him to work for his lone score.
Even the second string looked more than formidable at times. All in all both defenses combined for 8 sacks and 19 tackles for loss.
Alabama’s biggest problem rushing the passer next year should be deciding who to send, and not if those guys should be sent. Look for Alabama to take advantage of its depth and blitz more often this fall.
