Don’t forget that it’s hard to get sacks against a lot of cutting-edge Pac-12 offenses. It’s even harder to get them as a defensive tackle. Knowing that, Shelton is almost a sure bet to make it in the NFL, and New York would pick up a run-stopper and a pass rusher who would be a major force.

Shelton picked up half a sack against Oregon, a sack against Arizona, and half a sack against Washington State. All of those teams have cutting-edge offenses, but it meant nothing to him. He was also in on 92 tackles last year, 54 of which were solo. Who is that great at defensive tackle? Almost nobody.

If Shelton can learn more about getting leverage and not just rely on physical attributes, he’ll be amazing.
