Marshall and the system benefitted from this guy, Cameron Artis-Payne, this past year. Artis-Payne ran for 1,608 yards last year on 303 attempts, averaging close to five and a half yards per carry, and he also had 13 receptions for 147 yards.

Artis-Payne is very patient and has amazing vision, but he’s not as explosive as people like, and that’s what will drop him to the last day at 5’9″ 212 pounds. But remember, Arian Foster’s patience caused him to go undrafted.

Forget all of that. Look at whether or not he performed.

And Artis-Payne performed in the defensive-minded SEC. Against the loaded Ole Miss Rebels defense, he had 138 yards and a touchdown on 27 attempts for more than five yards per carry, so competition will not hold him back.

And neither will his size or the reservations teams have. Artis-Payne will be a huge steal for somebody.

Running Back, Auburn Tigers

When Cam Newton went to the NFL and Nick Marshall began to put up huge numbers and almost lead the Auburn Tigers to the national championship, credit for his college days began to be deflected a little bit from him and given to Gus Malzahn.

Malzahn does deserve a lot of credit. But Marshall is nothing close to Newton.
