College football guru Phil Steele has compiled the 10 toughest college football schedules for the 2015 season with Alabama playing the toughest slate this year.

Earlier this week we shared with you that Phil Steele projected the Alabama Crimson Tide to play the nation’s toughest schedule with nine games against teams in his preseason top 27 with four of their opponents having an open week before playing Nick Saban’s team.

One day later we now have the full top 10 from the college football guru who released his top 10 toughest schedules for 2015 on his Twitter account on Thursday.

Coming in behind Alabama is the same team that ended their run atop the recruiting dynasty last February in the USC Trojans who are an early preseason pick to represent the Pac-12 in the College Football Playoff. In fact, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to see Alabama play USC in the Playoff despite their daunting treks to get to the postseason tournament.

In total, three SEC west teams are in the top six with Arkansas and Auburn joining Alabama, but the Pac-12 has three teams in the top five and five teams in the top nine with California, Washington, Utah and Stanford on the list.

Texas and Kansas at No. 7 and No. 10 are the two teams from the Big 12 on the list but zero teams from the ACC and Big Ten are projected to play one of the 10 toughest schedules.

Things will change as the season goes on as the numbers are based on projections for this year, but it looks like the teams in the SEC west (as always) and the Pac-12 teams should have a tough road ahead of them. Meanwhile, Ohio State has a manageable path to get back to the Playoff and repeat as national champions.
