Final Thoughts

Tommy Tuberville’s third team should honestly be better in every way. Yes, they lose lots of starters on defense. But that unit was not great anyway last year, and the amount of depth, talented newcomers, and experienced players returning should keep it from getting any worse.

Add in the offense, which should become a Top 20 offense this year if everybody stays healthy, and this team could go very far. They have been considered an easy team to pick to win the AAC, and while that could be a bit of a stretch, everything is in place to allow for it.

The biggest thing will be a more hospitable schedule this year and enough people in the swing of things earlier in the year this time around. Perhaps that will help them with their goal.

Prediction

Cincinnati is probably in a better position to win the AAC than Memphis is in terms of talent. Unfortunately for the Bearcats, they have to travel to Memphis, and they have to play UCF as well. Add in road games against the Houston Cougars and the East Carolina Pirates, and the schedule is just too hard for this team to win the AAC.

Nothing broke their way.

On top of those four games, they have a road game with the BYU Cougars and a home date with the Miami Hurricanes.

That makes for a potentially 6-6 season in the worst-case scenario.

But we are going to call for another 9-3 season. Cincinnati will win three of those six potential losses, but it will not be enough to win the conference.
