Vannett is an incredible size at 6’6″ 260 pounds, and despite only having 19 receptions for 220 yards, he had five touchdowns and blocked for Ezekiel Elliott to help him put up amazing numbers throughout the year. Vannett never failed to come up huge when it mattered, scoring huge blocks against the physical Alabama Crimson Tide to pave the way for that upset and catching a touchdown pass against the Oregon Ducks.

He also missed four games on the year, and going into this year, as he should be more settled into the system, the senior should make a huge name for himself. Based on the non-glamorous part of playing tight end, Vannett should garner serious consideration as a high draft pick next year.

He may not be the fastest tight end, and he may not rack up lots of receiving yards, but he will be another one of those reliable guys who can do anything asked of him at the next level. Sometimes simply being a sure thing helps.

Nick Vannett

Senior, Ohio State Buckeyes

You have got to go with somebody from the national champions at this position as an NFL Draft prospect. You don’t win championships anymore without a physical player with at least tight-end caliber talent.

And that guy is Nick Vannett for Urban Meyer’s Ohio State Buckeyes.
