This is the first of a six-part series in which we suggest new college football fight songs for FBS teams. Here are the suggested new fight songs for SEC teams.


The beauty of college football is that, like Major League Baseball, it has been a sport that prides itself on tradition. And those traditions keep it relevant.

But refusal to deviate from those traditions or add anything new can be a major curse as well. Sometimes you have to change with the times.

One of those things could be a new fight song for college football teams. Don’t worry, they can still keep their other fight songs. But perhaps have two fight songs for different scenarios to make things newer.

This is what we are going to try to do here. Let’s find new fight songs for every major college football team by picking more recent songs that fit the identity of the school.

The band can play a part of these songs. By recent, we are talking within the last 20 years, mostly within the last 10.

Here we start with the SEC. The south is a place rooted in plenty of music, old and new. Let’s take a look at the new songs every SEC team could pick for a fight song.
