Head coach Larry Fedora may be on the hot seat this year so the quickest way to get off it is with Williams playing more confident, consistent and under control, all of which he is more than capable of proving this year.

Marquise Williams

QB, North Carolina

Marquise Williams put up really nice numbers as a passer and a runner last year for the North Carolina Tar Heels but he needs to prove he can be more consistent this year and turn that production into more wins.

Williams completed 63.1 percent of his passes for 3,073 yards, 21 touchdowns and interceptions with an additional 783 yards and 13 scores coming on the ground as one of the ACC’s best dual-threat quarterbacks. The numbers look good when you see his season stats but looking at the game log you see six times when Williams threw one or fewer touchdowns and the Heels went 1-5 in those games, which can’t be repeated this year.
