What he needs to get off the hot seat: North Carolina made what looked like a great hire when they hired Fedora after he led Southern Mississippi to a 12-2 record and a top 20 ranking in 2011. Fedora tied for first place in the coastal division and won eight games for a team on probation. He made a fine first impression but in the years since he is 13-13 and 8-8 in the ACC after going 6-7 last year and lost the Quick Lane Bowl.

Allowing 70 point in a loss to East Carolina and not even being competitive in a 35-7 home loss to NC State are black eyes that haven’t gone away. He’s going in the wrong direction and needs eight wins and a signature ACC win to avoid the firing line.
