  • Since being blown out of the BCS National Championship game by Alabama in 2012, things have been on the decline for the Fighting Irish. Academic fraud, players transferring out and recruitment issues have all become big news for the storied program.

The Irish are lacking at several key positions this season (quarterback being one of them) and coupled with a schedule that includes five teams who could very well end up ranked in the Top 10 this season, it could be a long season for Notre Dame.

Kelly’s team finished off the 2014 regular season with four consecutive losses before finally squeaking by LSU in the Music City Bowl. When things get that bad this season (and they will) the talk of Kelly’s future at the school will really become loud.

He may not be fired, but this could be the season that leads to his departure.
