  • Can Harbaugh an his famously-abrasive personality click with Michigan faithful? His success at Stanford was legendary, but it was also at a program where any positive steps were seen as a gift, and putting together Pac-12 contenders was looked upon as miraculous.

    Things are different at Michigan. The Maize and Blue Nation want a winner…they expect a winner…not tomorrow, but yesterday. They’ve not taken kindly to becoming a second rate team in the Big Ten, and they have an expectation — fair or not — of Harbaugh to pull them out of the doldrums immediately.

    Harbaugh has less than half of a real recruiting class, and a lot of work to do. He’ll probably get a pass this season no matter what, but it will be an interesting story to watch unfold and to see if his affable opening nature with fans and the media in Ann Arbor will turn into him bristling at questions once again.
