The Big 12 Fighting For Recognition
The Big 12 has been scoffed at in recent seasons as one of the bottom-feeders of the Power-5 conferences. That all should have come to and end last season, but there are still doubters all around.

TCU and Baylor proved that the Big 12 might not be throwing traditional powerhouse teams in the national spotlight, but they do have teams who can beat just about anybody anytime. The exclusion of those two top-ranked teams from the playoffs last season was due to poor vision in the conference offices.
Texas and Oklahoma need to rebound from down seasons, and Kanas State always seems to have a fight for recognition regardless of who they beat and how good they play. If Baylor and TCU take a step back this year, it could severely damage the Big 12’s image in the view of the CFB Playoff Committee.
The bottom line is that the Big 12 has just as many great teams as other conferences, possibly more than some, but regular season scheduling cannibalization and the lack of the conference championship game are tough hurdles to get past.
