Florida State and Oregon, Post-Jameis and Marcus

Two quarterback names who have dominated the college football landscape over the past few seasons are Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston. Both have now moved on to the NFL, and both have left their respective teams — Oregon and Florida State — scratching their heads when it comes to replacing them.

Both the Ducks and Seminoles have practically lived in the Top 10, and expectations are still high for both programs. Now they’ll both have to figure out how to stay in that upper echelon of programs with new men under center.

Much of the nation (outside of Tallahassee) is hoping to see Florida State fail and to see Jimbo Fisher lose his cool in press conferences, while the sentiment for the Ducks (except for their rivals) seems to be one of more tolerance.

These two programs will get a lot of TV time and a lot of press clippings this season, and to see how the story comes to life and if their chapters become interwoven at the end of the season once more will be gripping drama for fans.
